Chase began martial arts when he started training Muay Thai at the age of 19, prior to joining the army. Chase then served 21 years in Army Special Forces (Green Berets) at 5th Special Forces Group. He went on 11 deployments throughout the Middle East, with combat deployments to places such as Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. Some of Chase's specialty skills as a Green Beret included advanced Close-Quarters Battle, Close Target Reconnaissance, level II sniper, Army Combatives, Ranger School, and Combat Diver.
Chase started training jiu-jitsu in 2016. He has had the unique opportunity to train with people all over the world in places like Beirut, Lebanon and Cairo, Egypt. Chase has extensive experience teaching Low-Visibility Tactics to American and foreign Special Forces soldiers in the U.S. and the Middle East. This type of training incorporates multiple disciplines such as grappling, striking, concealed-carry, and Close-Quarters Battle.
Chase earned a gold medal at the 2024 Nashville Grappling Games Masters Division and a gold medal at the 2026 ADCC Nashville Open Masters Division. He currently holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
